Tool #4

This tool showed me how to use Google Reader and Google Docs. Up until this point, I have only used Google Maps. The 7th graders used Google Docs, maybe the entire school did, I am not sure. Maybe one of you will let me know.

I am not exactly positive that I have properly registered for this course yet, as I have yet to receive e-mail confirmation and my name isn't listed under WAIS. I am pretty sure that my work will have been save, hopefully I won't have to do all of the lessons over. If so, I'm sure I will learn more and work through the lessons in less time.

For my Google Doc, I sent a document to my family members (and Amy Houser since she is in my PLN, I hope she doesn't mind, not too interesting). For Google Reader, I subscribed to the blogs set up by 5 of my coworkers.

I know that Google Docs are very useful in the school. I have seen them used in the classsroom. It is especially good for students who have internet access, but don't necessarily have the funds to purchase Microsoft Office. It also works great for grouop projects/collaborative learning.

I am sure that I will be thrilled by being able to easily follow my classmates with Google Reader.

  1. google docs allows the students to share from anywhere. Kids are so good with technology as they have grown up with it, so we have to learn to move forward just to keep up with and maybe ahead of them.
